Wild growing verbena can be found almost everywhere in European countries.Verbena (verbena officinalis) belongs to the verbena family. It grows to a height of 75 centimetres, is annual and occurs almost all over Europe. The square, straight stems have feathered leaves and small purple flowers during the summer months. It is also called druid, saga or wound weed.
The fresh shoots are harvested during the summer. They contain mucilage, bitter substances and very little essential oil.
